Welcome to Elk Rapids Youth Football & Cheer

Welcome to ERYFC! We are glad you have made the decision to join the Elks. We offer opportunities for our players to join flag, tackle or cheer teams.
We are proud members of the YMCA Northern Region Pop Warner Program.
The shift we took in 2023 allowed our program to grow to new heights and has several advantages for our players and families.
-
7 game set season schedule
-
Closer game locations
-
Later start dates for summer practice & games
-
Clear and consistent rules/guidelines for safest play.
-
Competitive teams the Elks will see in the future at upper levels of play.
Tackle & Sideline Cheer: We offer two team levels: 3rd & 4th grade and 5th & 6th grade. Tackle sign up will be posted in the summer with camp dates announced. Tackle participants will be asked to walk in the Harbor Days Parade the first weekend in August with the regular practice schedule starting in Mid-August. The YMCA does all of the game scheduling but they will be hosted on Saturday's through the beginning of October. All players participating in tackle need to have a current physical before they can participate.

Thank You Coaches, Players, Families & Fans for a great Flag Season
Flag Football & Cheer Camp: Each spring we offer a fun experience for our players through a 5-game season of flag football beginning with a multi-level 'combine draft' to determine teams in mid-April. The teams are divided into K-2, 3rd and 4th and 5th-7th and are coached by an incredible group of volunteers, coaches and high school assistance. Cheer camp, lead by our sideline coaches, is hosted indoors for three coordinating Saturdays. We look forward to seeing you back in 2026! Highlights from our 2025 season are pictured below.
Volunteering for Tackle Season
Home games during our fall tackle season require a great number of helping hands to run successfully. We are required to host not only our two teams, but also several other teams that face off over the course of the day (up to five games in total). Middle School & High School games are always thankful for the extra help as well. Together we can make it happen!
ERYFC benefits greatly by hosting these events as the ticket and concession stand profit feeds our program. It is imperative that each our of ERYFC families contribute as much as they are able during the time their own players are not in action.
Sign-Up Genius for the 2025 season is now open
